Das Motiv in jedem Bild: die "1". Einige Gedanken zur "1" (Warum nicht die "2" oder die "7"?).

Die "1" hat mit Emotionen zu tun, in beiden Richtungen:
In die positive und in die negative: Die "1" führt durchs Leben. Der 1. Geburtstag. Das 1. Lebensjahr. Der 1. Eindruck. Das 1. Auto. Aber auch: Der 1. Weltkrieg. Die 1. Entäuschung. Und die "1" als Beginn der numerischen Zahlenreihe.
Die "1" verkörpert Extreme und verbindet Emotionen. Die "1" ist nicht alltäglich. In den Bildern von Thomas Koch werden Sie die "1" nicht immer sofort erkennen, sie ist oft nur ein Fragment, durch verschiedene Farbelemente zusammengefügt oder durch eine spezialle Richtung des Pinselstrichs angedeutet. Einige Male ist es auch symbolhaft, vieleicht die Andeutung eines Siegerpodestes, das Platz bieten könnte für den "Ersten". Gehen Sie bitte davon aus, dass die Farbzusammenstellungen absolut nicht willkürlich oder zufällig sind, sondern exakt geplant und beabsichtigt.[bild=name_werke_d_2]
Eines Tages stand ein kleiner Junge vor einem der ersten Bilder und sagte genau das, was sich viele Menschen denken, aber nichtaussprechen. "Das kann ich auch." Sicherlich: Farbe auf Leinwand - kann jeder.
Aber achten Sie bitte auf die Präzision und Genauigkeit, mit der die Farblinien in jedem Bild aneinanderstoßen. Hier steckt eine strapaziöse und kraftaufreibende Ausführung dahinter, sprich: die praktizierte Technik gehört mit zum Ganzen.
Die Weiterentwicklung bezüglich Materialien und Technik sehen Sie in der in Blautönen gehaltenen "1", die durch Hunderte von Lämpchen beleuchtet wird, und in der Darstellungsweise mit einer Doppel-"1" aus zweimal einer Tonne Stahl. Das Modell befindet sich imAusstellungsraum in der Verkleinerung 1:10.
A representation of pure forms and pure lines
The "1" is intrinsic in both kinds of emotions:
The positive and the negative: the "1" prevails throughout life.[bild=name_werke_gb_1]The 'I' birthday. The "1" year of life. The "1" emotion. The "1" automobile. And also: The "1" world war. The "1" disappointment. The "1" begins the numerical series of figures.
The "1" embodies and combines emotions. The "1" is not everyday. In the paintings of Thomas Koch, the "1" is not always recognisable at first glance, it is often only a fragment contained in a variety of colour combinations or brushstrokes. It often appears symbolically, perhaps as just the suggestion of a victory podium offering the place of the "1". Vital to the appreciation of this work is understanding that the constellation of colours is by no means random or accidental but by specific design.
One day a[bild=name_werke_gb_2] little boy stood in front of one of the first paintings and in fact said what many people actually think but never say, "I can do that too".
Indeed: colour on canvas - everybody can do.
But please focus on the precision and exactitude of how the colour lines interact in each individual painting. An exhausting and energy-draining effort is hidden, in other words, the technique employed is an integral part of the whole.
One can observe the continuous development of materials and techniques in the blue hues of the "1" which is illuminated by hundreds of little lamps, and with the representation with a double "1" each made from a ton of steel. This model can be found in the exhibition room reduced to a scale of 1:10.
Une représentation de formes et lignes pures
Le « 1 » est essentiel dans plusieurs formes d'émotion : Le positif et le négatif: la présence du « 1 » est[bild=name_werke_f_1] prédominante tout au long de la vie. Le « 1 » anniversaire. Le « 1 » année de vie. Le « 1 » émotion. Le « 1 » automobile. Et aussi : Le « 1 » guerre mondiale. Le « 1 » déception, le « 1 » commence la suite numérique des chiffres.
Le « 1 » contient et combine les émotions. Le « 1 » n'est pas quotidien, dans les oeuvres de Thomas Koch, le « 1 » n'est pas toujours visible au premier coup d'oeil, il est souvent représenté comme un fragment de lui-même ou bien il est révélé par des combinaisons de couleurs ou par le mouvement du balayage de la brosse. Il apparaît aussi souvent d'une manière symbolique, comme, par exemple, la plus haute marche du podium de la victoire, la place « 1 ». Il est essentiel pour apprécier cette oeuvre de réaliser que la constellation des couleurs n'est en [bild=name_werke_f_2]aucun cas fortuite mais bien le résultat d'une réflexion et d'une intention spécifique.
Un jour, un petit garçon se tenait devant un des premiers tableaux et dit ce que beaucoup de gens pensent vraiment mais ne disent jamais, "Je peux faire ça aussi".
En effet, mettre des couleurs sur une toile, tout le monde peut le faire !
Mais, s'il vous plaît, regardez bien la précision et l'exactitude avec lesquelles les tracés de couleurs se combinent et construisent chèque œuvre. Remarquez avec quelle énergie et quelle force épuisante: l'artiste a travaillé, en d'autres termes, la technique employée constitue bien une part conséquente de l'ensemble.
On peut observer la progression constante des matériaux et techniques utilisés pour obtenir les différentes teintes de bleue du « 1 », illuminé par des centaines de petites lampes, et où la représentation du double « 1 » est créée à partir d'un ton « acier ». Cette œuvre est présentée dans la salle d'exposition, réduite à l'échelle 1/10.

Erstmalig präsentierte BMW in der Niederlassung Leipzig eine Ausstellung. Thomas Koch zeigte neben 38 Gemälden aus den Jahren 2001 bis 2004 ein Materialbild sowie das Modell einer Stahlskulptur.
Klare Konzepte wie der 1er, klare Ausdrucksstärke wie die Malerei von Thomas Koch bedürfen klarer Räume der Präsentation. So konnte man ein nicht nur intellektuelles sondern auch sinnliches Raum-Erlebnis genießen.
